この度、ONO POINT ART SPACE（では、ドイツのハンブルグを活動拠点に置くアーティスト、ミュージシャン、キュレーターであるソフィア・ライテンマイヤーによる日本初個展、「three river pieces」展を2024年5月17日（金）〜5月25日（土）まで開催いたします（休：5月19日）。
ライテンマイヤーは、音、物体、映像、パフォーマンス、絵画などを駆使し空間を構成します。それら異なるメデイアによる複合的アプローチは、ライテンマイヤーにとって非常に重要な意味をもちます。制作方法は流動的で一時的であり、制作過程のプロセスが重要視され、社会的、政治的な背景が人々の作品への介入を促します。また、手作業によるアートとキュレーションのための空間の創造は、自己組織化、文脈、追悼、葬儀の弔辞、休息、欲望などの研究にまで広がっています。
これまでにライテンマイヤーは、最も社会的関連性の高い映画に贈られるウィリー・ミュンツェンベルク賞（2021年）、ハンブルク若手映画作家賞（2022年）を受賞しました。また、Neuer Kunstverein Wien（ウィーン／オーストリア）、HYCP Hamburg（ハンブルグ／ドイツ）、Studio Peragine（ハンブルグ／ドイツ）、NYT Art Space（ベルリン／ドイツ）などでの展覧会にも参加、Galerie für Gegenwartskunst EWERK Freiburg（ハンブルグ／ドイツ）、Galerie Genscher（ハンブルグ／ドイツ）では個展を開催しました。
今回はハンブルグで助成金を得て、調査、研究のために横浜に滞在。滞在期間中に鶴見を中心とした横浜市内各所でのリサーチの成果を作品制作、展覧会という形で発表します。
現在、ライテンマイヤーは義肢、機能しない身体、さまざまな生命体の修復に取り組んでいます。 今回発表する作品は都市の水道システムに焦点を当てており、川の音とサックスを使用し水の音、都市の音を聴き、それらを共鳴させます。
「three river pieces」展では、横浜の市街を流れる3つの河川に注目。大岡川、帷子川、鶴見川を通じた場所と水域との繋がりを示す川での追悼です。
音響作品は、川の音を水中マイクで録音し、同時に川岸でサックス演奏した音楽で制作され、加えて、楽譜の描画を施した3Dプリンターで制作したゴム製の彫刻（オルガンスキン）と、川での制作過程を記録した映像が展示されます。

Sophia Leitenmayer is an artist, musician and curator based in Hamburg (Germany). Collective approaches are important for their work―developing interdisciplinary works at the intersection of sound and object, film art, movement, painting and space. The working method is fluid, ephemeral, and process-oriented, and social and political contexts drive their installations and performative interventions. The physical experiences of their hand-based practises and creating spaces for art and curating is accompanied by fields of research: self-organization, archives, remembrance practice, funeral eulogy, rest and desire.
S.L. received the Willi Münzenberg Award for the most socially relevant film (2021) and the Hamburg Young Filmmakers Award (2022) and their works have been exhibited on diverse platforms, including Neuer Kunstverein Wien, Kunstverein Springhornhof, HYCP Hamburg, Studio Peragine, Delphi Space, ((NYT)) Art Space Berlin, several off-spaces and Solo exhibitions at Galerie für Gegenwartskunst EWERK Freiburg and Galerie Genscher Hamburg.
At the moment Leitenmayer works on prosthesis, non-functioning bodies and repair of different live forms. In Yokohama the work focuses on the water systems of the city which the artist is listening to and resonating with using hydrophone and saxophone.
The work that is displayed at Ono Point consists of three river pieces: one for the ōoka river, one for the katabira river and one for the tsurumi river. Its a 3-channel sound installation with objects. The topic is connecting to the water body of places and mourning at rivers. The audio works are created with underwater recordings and recordings of the artists Saxophone play at the rivers. The physical parts are 3D-printed objects and ‚organ skins‘ that display the musical score of the place, a kind of graphic notation and drawing on latex moulds of the artists organ. Additional to that the side specific installation includes a video that documents the performative working process at the rivers and 3d scans of the particular environment.
